Rebecca recently moved from the Bay Area where she worked as a teacher, school administrator, instructional coach, and curriculum developer. In these capacities, she developed an interest in learning more about how race shapes expectations of academic achievement and academic identity, both on the part of students and educators. She believes improving educational opportunities for students of color requires addressing implicit bias and is interested in studying structures and practices that mitigate the impact of bias in the classroom.
